During the Katowice edition of the 16th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival, a jury consisting of: Anna Szrama, Mona Tusz, and Wojciech Kuczok, unanimously gave the Silesian Grand Prix – the Award of the Marshall of the Silesian Voivodeship and EUR 3000 to Tamara Kotevska and Lyubomir Stefanov, authors of the film “Honeyland”.
The jury awarded the film for “a beautiful and profound story about transience, love, the humility required to live in harmony with nature, and the patience to withstand its elements, the most destructive of which turns out to be man. It is an aesthetically sophisticated, moving work – one of those marvels of cinema that seduce you without any foreplay, one with which you fall in love from the first shot and one that grips your heart even after the credits have rolled.” The jury “also appreciated several other successful works that had the misfortune of being pitted against this masterpiece – the most heated debate was sparked by Jill Magid’s ‘The Proposal’”.
